On 10/29/18 I was out on Lake Guntersville fishing a two day tournament with my dad when all of a sudden our trolling motor broke. Since we were dead in the water, my dad Googled "nearby boat service centers" and Dawson Boat Center came up. We immediately called and spoke with Greg who diagnosed the issue over the phone as most likely a broken cable. He advised us to get it to him and he would be able to help. At this point, we loaded up the boat and made the short drive from Goose Pond to the Dawson Boat Center. I was impressed by the showroom and the entire inventory. But more importantly, I was impressed by the top notch service. Greg had a technician/mechanic work on the trolling motor as soon as he returned from lunch. Sadly, I can't remember the mechanic's name but he was fantastic. This definitely wasn't his first rodeo, as he quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the cable in short order. He was very polite and obviously a master technician. The service was so fast we were able to make it back on the lake that same day and continue fishing. I wish I could say our fishing experience was as excellent as the service we received from Dawson Boat Center but unfortunately that was not the case. Though I wished our trolling motor had not broken, I am grateful to have experienced the Dawson Boat Center. While their facility is top notch and they have an excellent inventory, the employees from the owner to the mechanics and sales people make this business the true gem that it is. You get a fair price for your new boat and your trade-in. Dawson Marine has an excellent service department and I have been completely satisfied with every service over the last five years. The staff is very knowledgeable on all the products and accessories they sell. Most importantly, I trust Greg Dawson and I am treated as well now as I was five years ago when I purchased my Ranger. I won't go anywhere else!
